Brief:    Development of an online communication, incentive and reward environment to replace the existing 22 disparate programmes

Overview:
Real World, in conjuction with THA, combined to launch an all encompassing communication, recognition and reward website for BT Global Services.


Requirement:
The brief required that the new system replace the current 22 incentive and reward programmes across 34 countries consisting of both paper and internet, into a single, central environment to manage the entire global communication, reward and fulfilment process.


Solution:
Working closely with THA and BT, we firstly ensured that current programme problems were fully understood within each of the BT divisions, which were generally, ‘too time consuming to administer’, ‘too costly to maintain’ and no meaningful MI. On completion of the due diligence, a development specification was produced which included the mapping of the complex employee hierarchy which formed the sites’ core intelligence e.g. enabling targeted communication to individuals and groups.

This culminated in the delivery of a website that proved intuitive for the employee to recognise excellence but also simple to maintain by the site administrators. For example, the CMS ‘reporting suite’ enables managers to view exactly who is being nominated/awarded for what, how much has been spent and create various reports by department. Finance managers are able to view and download detailed ‘benefit in kind’ reports.

Via our eComms module system communicates user specific information such as programme measurements, results and manager’s messages all according to login. All BT Global Services employees’ can nominate and/or reward anyone within BT – some 130,000 employees. The rewards include traveller’s cheques, vouchers, experiences, merchandise and global travel all of which are handled electronically by the ‘order management’ module.

The system was successful on two fronts; it enables BT to centralise all reward and recognition and secondly increased the account profiliablity of the agency.

RWT were also required to satisfy the stringent BT hosting requirements before being approved to host the environment externally.

Adjudication management

The adjudication module enables nominations to be stored centrally and adjudicated by the relevant line manager. The system enables multiple adjudicator levels.
